All the aftermarket exhaust systems are quite a bit lighter than stock.
eliminating the parking brake, along with the cable and handlebar assembly will also reduce weight.
i am sure there are more, i just can't think of any right now.

Carefully read my post in Honda. There are several ideas that I did. If anyone can come up with more, please let me know. Next year, I might try to lighten things in the engine. I have heard of things like lightening the flywheel, piston, etc...

Ok, this might be controversial, but I think most people are overlooking the obvious when it comes to weight savings: the beer gut around your waist!! Everyone is so determined to spend hundreds (or even thousands) of dollars on billet aluminum, carbon fiber, or whatever else parts to save a few pounds here and a few pounds there. I know a lot of people have easily 5-10 pounds of extra weight that they could stand to lose. Since none of our quads are remote control, the weight of a quad ALONE means nothing. It's the COMBINED weight of the quad AND RIDER that is really important. I would recommend looking no futher than your waist when trying to trim weight from your quad. Why spend $350-$400 on a new set of front hubs that save maybe 3-4 pounds when you can lose 3-4 pounds in a few weeks easily. You can probably save money too, since you'll be eating less.
Food for thought......ha ha!
