Race Gas
#2
You can use avgas but you lose some throttle response, not to mention that its designed for airplanes and their performance requirements.race gas mix would be better for your needs and would not cost that much more.

Supa Freak is right, AV gas has an additive for extreme low temperatures for the alttitude. I used to run it in my R before I found this out, although I didn't have any problems with it and the piston looked good when I took it apart. I have switched to VP.

i was thinking about going to an 11:1 or 12:1 ratio on my 400 ex and called around to see if i could still run it on pump gas.i was told by white bros.,wiseco, fst and a few others that anything 11:1 and over,i would have to run it on race gas.make a few phone calls to the pros.i'm not doubting anyone's knowledge but could you really trust the fate of your $7,000 quad to a reply in this forum when you have no clue who is giving you information....
