Default Turbo Question

I just wanted to throw this out there being 90% sure that it wont work but gonna see if a more intelligent person can inform me. I found a turbo in the dumpster behind my mom's store, if it is not functional I think I would be able to fix it, if it needs fixing, because its simple made and the casting is not cracked. From my very low knowledge of turbos it looks very small. Maybe for 50-140 hp motors. I think it says garrett but I cant tell cause there is a bit of gooey junk keeping me from knowing. I was wondering if this could be put on any atv and more specifically a 250 recon. The only thing I would have to work out is the fact that there seems to be hook ups for water and oil and there and that would be hard to do on an air cooled motor. Anyways any input is welcome.

Well my first thought is it's in the dumpster for a reason.

My second thought is there are many different sizes of turbos. Different compressor wheels and turbin wheels and housings of both.

Then you have to deal with what is wrong with the turbo. If it just needs a seal kit that is not too bad to do yourself. If it needs a compressor wheel or a turbin wheel then it needs to be rebalanced and that can get into some money to do.

Then you need a good oil pressure supply. Then there is a problem with water supply if it is a water cooled turbo.

Then there is the fuel supply issue. Lots of problems with fuel supply to a turbo engine.

All in all I would Ebay it and do something else for your quad.
