Wolverine questions
#1
I have a bone-stock 1999 Wolverine. I have been reading some of the posts on this forum about Wolverine's topping out between 50 and 55 mph. I have used both a GPS and driving along side a pickup and I can only reach 45 or 46 mph. Is this normal?
Also, would I notice a difference with a K&N Performance Kit and a FMF MegaMaxII? Would I be dreaming to think I would pick up an extra 5 or 10 mph?
BTW, I am extremely happy with my Wolverine - it just gets a person thinking reading all of these ideas!!
The Detroit Un-Locker from HighLifter especially has my interest, but that's another topic.
Thanks for all your help!

45 mph does seem a little slow, but without knowing the conditions you were driving in I can't say for sure. Was it on a flat road? Hard packed gravel or pavement?
If conditions aren't perfect ATV's will lose alot of speed.
Other things, like your tire pressure and a clean air filter are important too.
As for the Highlifter thingamajig; remember, 500 bucks can turn your Wolverine into one badass 'wheeler. It might be fun to have 2wd, but there are alot better ways to spend that kind of coin.
