Default Upgrades/Mods

I have about 5 fourwheelers now. My fav two are my Tao Tao 250D and my Kawasaki Bayou 4x4. I paid about 1200 for both. I think the Tao is a 2010 and from the decals am guessing the Bayou o around 98. Anyone know how to check vins please pm me.

Tao Tao. One quad I would love to mod. Just like my car its a mutt. Meaning its frame one maker and motor another. From what I have seen the Tao is no different than my 250 yahama moto 4. So exhaust would work off any atv. I mean its just like a car. The re jet is something I want to tips on also maybe a bore. I have a low gear sprocket but I have 12 tooth though 16. Made it where I can change at will on the track. Running KMC 118 link chain. Also running itp 8" rims with bear claws. Any idea's and PLEASE dont come on here screaming TAO a pos. I dont mind working on my stuff. with it chain driven its easier to fix and HAS not left me 20 miles from home nor stop in any mud hole.

Kawasaki 300 Bayou. Next up I have order 12" rims and spacers. New 26" kenda executioner tires 26x12-12 all around. Also order highlifter 2" kit. I have a winch mount and hooking up a push button start. Looking for a good exhaust "FMF"? Or DG?

Snorkle kit am making, custom paint job, custom light setup, radio, rear cargo seat, sending it to the shop for a over haul on maintenance am sure the person before has never done it. Buying a high low range gear box I found for cheap to store. Making a front rack speaker system.

Any thing anyone else would do while am at it? Projects are below.

You can decode the VIN here. The 10th digit is the year. ATV VIN Number

i have the tao tao ata-250d with racks
here is afew tips
1 replace the cheap chinese fuel line with ( north american 1/4 ) high pressure synthetic rubber line
2 flush out the brake lines and use silicone brake fluid ( makes a hell of a difference )
3 the engine does not like ngk plugs for some reason ( the engine is a 1974 honda motorcycle clone )
4 engine for some reason does not like any fuel less than 91 octane

Sad to say I paid someone to take mine lol, well 200 bucks and a plaskter 22lr. The carb wouldn't let me adjust the choke clutch made it a headache. Even after tire upgrade kmc chain. Tensor deleted. Low gear sprocket to make the take off easier. Less stall. My trail is pretty nasty its not quad friendly. I have killed rancher 400, tao 250d, quadrunner 250 4x4, sad that bayou has yet to let me down. I will however pass that info to the new owner. His been working on it none stop for weeks.

Change the front sprocket to a 14 or 13 tooth, I have put larger tires on my sons 250d and went down to the 13 tooth, still has enough power to raise the front tires without popping the clutch. Also made the ATV much more drivable on technical trails.

I replaced it with a 13. Am use to chain driven atv. Knew that would be the best idea. But I sold it.
My nephew owns a kymco. I been working on it for him. Its a 50cc has a 520 chain on it. Front sprocket is a 15 tooth. Dropping it down to a 13-14 taking top end off and slamming him a 2stroke 70cc top end off a polaris and rejet his carb. Add new exhaust. Should boost his power up a lot. Its not lacking non as it is lol

I have a 08 outty 400 now. Been nice but bike frame a B on clearance.

I'm researching the possibility of putting a big bore kit in a TaoTao Raptor 200 and larger carb. Any advice or do you think its possible?
