TRX 350 (87) intermit.

will be running fine and then just quit. It will imed. start again. Sometimes it dies when shifting into gear from neutral. I swapped the neutral safety switch with the reverse switch. Didn't know if that could have been a prob. Didn't seem to help in any event. A dealer said that there had been some fuel pump probs. for that year. Any ideas? Thanks

I've seen that quite a bit on those 350's, but have never found the exact cause. You can put a new Neutral switch in, but I doubt it will correct the problem.
The best way to get around it is to tie a ground wire to the frame, put a bullet connector on the other end, and plug into the harness connector that would connect to the Neutral switch - the downfall to this is that it will let the quad start in any gear.
As far as the fuel pump problems, they do have problems, usually a good cleaning on the contacts in the pump end corrects the problem (I use a point file to clean the contacts). If the pump needs replacing, instead of paying the $100+ for a new pump, I've seen people get a $35 lifetime inline pump from Autozone and put in place of the OEM.

Yeah, I tried the grounding to bypass the neutral switch. Didn't seem to help. May do it again as having it start in gear is handy sometimes. It restarts so fast that I don't believe there is a prob. with the fuel pump. Will clean the contacts anyway. Thanks
