Where can i buy a motor for a John Boat?

You can try eBay. They always have a bunch of outboards. Your Jon boat must be fairly wide 'cause I have a 14 foot and it is only rated for a 5 horse. I picked up a 5.5 off of one of those buy/sell programs on a local radio station {$235.00}. I got another 4 horse from a garage sale {$15.00}. The price varies quite a bit. You may be able to get a decent one for $500 or $100 all depending on where you find it. Around here a good runnning 15 horse {no matter how old it is} would be at least $500. Most name brand outboards are built like tanks, so if it is well taken care of it should last a LOOOONG time.

I've been here. I just haven't had many opportunities to post. I did get into a rather interesting "discussion" in the ATV's are gonna be banned posting. As far as riding I only ride the trails around here. They aren't that great but I can have a good time for a few hours. Beach Park is about 3 miles west of THE lake, about 8 miles south of Wisconsin and about 4 miles from Great America/ Gurnee Mills. Nice hearing from you.

Howdy,
I have a 1958 Johnson 18hp with a fresh tune up and new water pump. I had the work done about 1 1/2 yrs ago, and has been sitting on a stand ever since. The last ime it was run was in the test tank, and was starting on the first or second pull. It ran just like new. I would take $300.00 for it you pay shipping for it. I could take some pics if interested. It came off a 14ft jon boat. I just don't use it, I mostly use the boat for float trips or on conservation lakes that don't allow gas motors. For more imformation you can e-mail me at danno@beermail.com
