Is it possible to put a motor for an ATC in a 250R 4-wheeler frame? Would it be a good idea if you can? Also, would there be any modifications needed

I am guessing you want to put the 250r ATC motor in the trx250r frame? From what I understand they are the same motor and the motor should bolt right in. And from the success that Honda has had with the 250r I think it is safe to say that it's a good idea. You should do a search of some old posts for more info.

1985-86 atc motor, will bolt directly bolt into 86-87 trx frame. However you will need front motor mounts, and a head stay,(spend some $$$$$and get a after market head stay stock ones are notorious for breaking). If the motor is going into a 88-89 it will not bolt right up the swing arm/motor mount is different. Also i would do some research /call some one like CT racing about running a bridged exaust head 85-86,with a non-bridged 87-89 pipe you could possably roast the exuast side of the piston. good luck.
