Rob sorry to leave you hanging like that...I got busy riding my sled on Saturday and then was done doing some test riding on a nice TRX500R today....

Best bet is going to be to take the carbs off and dis-assy them and blow em out REAL good with compressed air. My hunch is that you have gotten just a tiny fleck of gunk into your pilot circuit...

I dont think that the idle problem is caused from float level. Either fuel is there or not, especially on a circuit like the idle that uses so little fuel. If it runs choked it has fuel. Additionally the fact that it requires choke to keep running also indicates to me that there some gunk in it.

Tear em down and blow em out...

You haven't failed me yet, so I will take'em apart again tomorrow and see if I missed anything!

By the way, with all the help you have given me over the past year, please let me know if you ever come down to the metro-Phoenix area. I would like to take you and your family down to our home in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.

There is some great beach-ridin' there with very few restrictions. Only thing is: 1) You gotta love beer! 2) What happens in Mexico stays in Mexico! 3) You gotta love beer!

Seriously, my great wife, 11 year old Pop Warner football star son and I would love to host you and your family! Just let us know!
And I will let you know what happens tomorrow after I go through the carbs again

By the way, what 2-stroke oil and ratio's do you recommedn for my ATV's? (Heavily modified 98 Banshee, Stock 01 Banshee with Toomeys, Stock 98 Polaris Sport 400, 99 Blaster with FMF pipes). I am sure tired of cxarring a ton of different oils, spark plugs, etc.!

I should have given a holler. I came down to Phoenix the beginning of November, and then drove up to Laughlin to work for the ASDA again at the WinterNationals. I got hooked up with the ASDA during DuneFest when Charlie didnt make it up, and Les asked us to come down to work for him again so we did.

I really appreciate the offer and if given the opportunity, I'd be happy to join you!!!

The mod'd '98 and the Blaster throw a monkey wrench in it. Well the Blaster sort of, depends on how hard it is ridden.

The stocker Banshee and the Poley can run 40:1 no problems. The Blaster if ridden, but not rode too hard can run that too- jetting is very important. If the Blaster gets the wheels rode off of it, I'd drop down to 32:1. I'd run that mod Banshee at 32:1 at least. Talk to Charlie some time about mix ratios. We've discussed it in the past, and when jetted for it, running high mix ratios like 26 and 20:1 will net more power. Jetting is important to have correct, and will require re-jetting top to bottom if you switch to a higher mix ratio like that. I'd stick with the synthetics, I'm a fan of Klotz Techinplate, but you can look at something like Klotz R50 for the mod Banshee. Castor based oils offer almost the best in high RPM protection, but castor is dirty and requires lots of heat and RPM to keep burning somewhat clean. So maybe run the Blaster and mod Banshee at 30-32:1 and the other two at 40:1 with a good synthetic like Klotz Techniplate.
