If you are concerned about stale gas you can just disconect the tank and drain it. Then add some fuel injecor cleaner to your next fillup to clean the carb. If you have sediment then I'd reccomend taking the tank off drain it and flush it with a small amount of dish soap and rinse well with hot water. The hot water should dry well. If you are concerned about risidual water pour in a bottle of rubbing alcohol shake and drain. This will quickly evaporate leaving a dry clean tank.
