question about axles

I found a durablue eliminator axle for my quad and it said 2+2. Does this mean it is adjustable from 2inches wider total from stock-4 inches wider from stock or does it mean 2 inches wider per side?? Thanks

the metal spacers I have on mine are 1 inch on each side. But i think the axle is wider 2 inches without the spacers and 4 inches with the spacers.
