Well I went through and replaced things (maintenance things) well I replaced the coil wire (it was a copper coil wire) with a silicone 7mm wire. Well now after every ride, it fries the wire (black on the inside about 1/8" in) WHY?? I threw away the old wire
Do I need to go with another copper wire OR a higher wire, 8mm? Dealer said it will be hard to match another wire.

Ron

There is many different types of plug wires. You must have a solid core with the solid copper wire. Many new wires use a material that is non-metallic. MSD ignitions won't operate above 3000rpm with solid core.

What do you mean when you say "fries". Is it melting the silcone? You might just not be getting a good connection inside the plug cap.

It turns black, not melted. I replaced the wire with a copper wire from dirt bike place that had it in stock by the foot ($.99 per foot) and it runs good now, weird!
