Drag295rr, actually the 250R based machines can be VERY fast. I was thinking of the 400ex based guys when I made my post. 5.28 et is very respectable.

 

It is funny you tell me to get a 2-stroke if I want to go faster. You are right there is no way I can compete with the 2-strokes that have been modified in a drag race. I was already thinking of picking up a 2-stroke to build just for drag racing. What should I get? I was thinking a banshee or quadzilla. Which one will I be able to modify the easiest and most cost efficient. I know to get it race ready I am going to have to put some money in to it. I just want to put as little as possible. Also shouldn't they have different classes in drag racing at my local track. I had to race a 1000 kawasaki with a big bore kit that was converted into a 3 wheeler. He was running low fours and I was on a quad strait off the showroom floor. I don't think I am going to race at that track anymore if I have to race things like that. There is just no way I can win.

 

Mountainman, personally I think a Banshee is your best bet if you want to build a drag machine. There are some that may say the 'Zilla is better but look around and you will see the fastest machines are the Banshees.
