Mojave wont start when hot.

I just put my motor back together and now when its hot and you shut it off it wont restart. The only way to get it to start is to drag it and pop the clutch. The pilot screw is 1 3/4 turns out and it idles great when i do get it started. The motor is 1mm over,K&N filter and main jetted at 134 and has a DG pipe. I can smell gas when i'm kicking it over and the plug shows signs of running rich. It still has the stock constant velocity carb. What could be wrong? The float level is right in spec. Im running out of ideas I hope someone can help. Thanks.

I had a bike once that did this. It turned out tot be a faulty breaker in the electrical system. When it would get hot, it would not start. I had to use the backup pull starter. I'm not real sure how I found the problem, but after I did, it started right up no matter how hot ti was.

OK..this sounds funny, but when we used to rebuild engines, alot of the times the carbs had to be rebuilt too.. we called it "Carburator shock"
I think it has to with if you accidently turn it upside down and the trash gets inside the internal ports and passages..
what it sounds like it's doing it flooding the engine after you have shut it down.. what you can't see is the needle and seat maybe leaking causing a no running flood condition. When you go to restart it.. it's hard to fire.. you smell gas ,it spits and sputters till you blow out the excess fuel and then it runs fine..
the reason it has to sit a few days before a sucessful cold start is it takes time for the fuel to bleed past the cylinder into the crankcase.. which reminds me.. check and change your oil too... if the rebuild fixes this problem.

i have a 99 and 00 Mojave and havent had any problems with it restarting hot... check your valves... it sounds like they are getting hot and expanding beyond their tolerances.... i have had problems with the float too.... so make sure when you do stop even for a few minutes shut the gas off and see if that helps...or when you go to restart it hot... when you kick it over try giving it gas at the same time... wide open at the same time you kick it... but dont hold it open as soon as it sounds like it's starting let off the gas!! when you flood an engine your not getting enough air to mix with the gas... so you have to open it up to start it... try it and see if that helps

Thanks everyone for your help.It turned out to be the head gasket. The brand new head gasket. Be forewarned Cometic gaskets are ****!!!! It leaked around the whole gasket. I put the old one back in with a little copper gasket spray and I'm good as new. It starts rite up first kick, cold or hot. Thanks again for your help.
