I bought a 87 Banshee a few months ago and it has a 3" extended swingarm. I cannot keep the chain on it. It does not have a chain guard or any chain rollers. I put a chain slider on it. Has anyone else had this problem before? Also should I put a stock swingarm on it or leave the extended one on it?? Thanks

If the swingarm was not extended by a proffesional then it could be out of line. This will cause the chain to come off continuosely. A +3 arm is good for most applications, but in your case it sounds like it wasnt extended properly. Stand behind teh machine and look to see that the axle looks like it is perfectly straight and not cocked. Measure from the footpeg to the tire on both sides and see if they are equal. If not , the swingarm is not square.

I belive that is my problem. It looks like it is not very straight, but I do not have a true place to measure it. I'm gonna take it off, but what should I do. Cut on it myself or take it to the dealer?

Take it too a dealer. It amy be as simple as heating and bending. It is really hard to extend a swingarm and keep it straight.

I have a 99 mojave that I extended 6". I did the work myself, as perfect as I could. Even after setting up a jig, it stilled moved slightly when welding. It's not perfect, but I have no problems with the quad at all when riding all I can dish out. Your swingarm must be really botched! Find a level surface like the garage floor.Set the quad up on some blocks or a jack.Look at the distance between the floor and the tires. Should be the same on both sides. if not its twisted. Have a local weld shop give you a price to straighten it out.
