Default making a arms

i am in the process of thinking about taking my stock 400ex a arms and making them +2. I was wondering if anyone knew if I would need to move my lower shock mount up 2in to keep the oring geometrey?? I am going to weld in 2in pices on lower and upper. Also i was wondering if anyone else has tried this? Any info would help thanks.

Matt, your shock mount should stay the same measurement from the frame. Moving it in or out will really make things change.

I don't know of anyone that has done what you are about to attempt, but I have made a-arms before and still make them.

My new project is making a swingarm. Let me tell you, it's alot harder then a-arms. lol

Default making a arms

well i have been debating between adding in 2 in and between just making a whole new set. I also am wondering dose +2 a arms make a big difference in shock travel. I am a rec rider/ occiosanlly hit the MX and also freguent the dunes. Would I notice a big difference if i where to get just after market shocks. I was thinking about works 3 rates with rezzies. Or would that just be not much imporvment with out +2 a arms. I am sort of on a budget so that is why I was thinking about making +2 instead of buying some. What kind of machine did you make yours for? How did they turn out? Any tips or suggestions? Thanks
