Could anyone tell me what all Yamaha changed on the 2002 gears?I lost 2nd gear on the 16th of Nov.while riding.Do i have to change all gears and shafts,shift forks,etc? Did Yamaha just add a dogear to second gear or did they change the whole tranny?I called up the dealorship,they told me they were'nt sure about it.(go figure)Thanks for any and all help![img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img]

 

I would say use the search feature here on the forums. I know there is threads that list all the parts numbers needed for the change over.

I find it hard to believe your local Yamaha shop knows nothing about the 2001 transmission problems.

This is harder to find than I thought it would be. I know there is better posts about this subject just have to hunt for them.

He did know of the problem,but said they haven't had to do any.He just didn't know if you had to do a complete tranny rebuild or just change 2nd gear and 4th it engages into.I was told they have received no info. on the swap as of yet.

 

I remember a list somewhere in the forums that showed all the part numbers needed for the 2002 gear set and it was quite a list.

I am running out of search time. I have to run, but if you don't find it I will try and look later unless someone else finds it.
