You'd be suprised that triples arent the way to go! They are fast, dont get me wrong, but twins still dominate the hill. There are exceptions to the rules, such as a PSI 1800cc snomo on alk and nitrous, maybe 450-500 horses. Yeah ok...that'd be fast. Another good running motor is the H-2 triple. Their main problems were the weak tranny, primarily 2nd gear. There is a company that fabricates a better gear set if your interested let me know. The H-2 is a late model street bike motor if you were wondering. Twister crankshafts also custom fabricates an extra banshee cylinder on the oem banshee cases to make a triple banshee motor utilizing 3 banshee cylinders. They also run well. So what im trying to get at is you dont primarily need a snomo to gain large displacements and the "triple" effect.

Yeah, 3 cylinders is cool, but the old H2 Kaw motor was really a bit on the heavy side if you compare it to the later model 2-cycle stuff. I personally like the 700 and 800 snow twin engines. Heck even Polaris's 440 engine is a race mod ready to go out of the box. Their cylinder design is unbelievable. I was going to put my alky 411 Polaris motor in a banshee frame, but it would require lengthening the middle section and relocating the left vertical brace to clear the primary clutch. I havent totally given up on it yet. A big twin should rocket real good.

I agree that a twin is the way to go over a triple. But you have to look at is as a H2 has a manual tranny, rather then the centrifugal clutch of a snomo. The clutch itself eats a lot of horsepower. H2's are very fast. I believe Jeff Montella's and Rudy Kurtz H2's have gone 3.6 in the 100 yard. It would be very hard to beat that with a snomo motor. Almost impossible.

twins suck, the only good thing about them is they would be easier to fit into the frame, but they dont put out power. but in atv applications the little 440 from polaris would make you untouchable. what other 400-700 class atv has 95 hp.

twins suck? I Dont get me started on you little man. You bring your triple or single and ill bring my twin, we'll see who wins. (rhyms too doesnt it...lookie derrr)
ShaneB, yes H-2's lack torque, why do you think they run 100 shots of NOS with them...lol id still rather run a twin over a triple. But a twin is a little more costly to pump out the big HP numbers
