In my opinion UNI is best especially in dusty conditions like the dunes. I have used a K&N slip on before with an outerwear cover and it still allowed alot of dust/sirt to pass through. I have a Twin Air slip on now that I also think is as good than the UNI and better than the K&N. The K&N may possibly flow more air, but I think it flows more dirt also. Just my opinion.

Maybe It wasn't sealed good?? I have never had dirt or sand come through the UNI or Twin Air, but the K&N was a totally different story.

I was wondering if you guys think it is worth it to put a k&n air filter kit on a 2001 wolverine. Would there be a noticeable difference in power?

Thanks,

Bighunter

it doesn't matter if its a two stage filter or not its still foam with holes in it big enough for sand to work its way through. a foam filter that is oiled good is good for dirt and dust because dust will stick to the oil, but sand doesn't stick to the oil it just works its way through the foam. i just went back to my k&n filter this last weekend for the dunes and found no sound in rubber intake going into the carb. unlike the uni which was caked with sand after one trip. so from personal experience i'd stick with a k&n. there's several other people who i ride with who have experience the exact same thing.
