Default 300ex/250r conversion

there is a good chance that i am goin to buy a 300ex with a 250r engine and i was wondering if any1 has done this conversion before and if so do u have any pics?? how did it perform???etc.

That's a lot of power for a little 300ex frame, unless it has extended a arms and longer swing arm to help the handling, it could be a real handfull on a high speed trail. Make sure it was professionally done,not a cob job that the original owner was afraid to ride. A 250R in a 400ex frame would have been a lot better idea.

the guy that did the quad put a 600r street bike engine into a 350x chassis so im pretty sure it was done pretty good and he said it has alot of extras , yea just like u said if it dont have extended axle and a-arms im plannin on puttin them on...........i just want to kno if sum1 has ever done this conversion and how it worked out

Default 300ex/250r conversion

I would stay awa from 250R engine 300EX frame conversions. Even with the longer swingarm, wider a-arms and axle. It's still gonna have short 300EX shocks and is not going to sell for that much once you dump all that money into it. The 250R came with a bigger stronger longer travel frame for a reason. With all the money you'll put into it for wider a-arms and axle and the new shocks you'll need to get to compensate for the wider a-arms and the initial cost of this "thing" you could have probably found a nice real 250R.
