Unhappy Oil Cap Blew, PLEASE HELP

Hi I have a Polaris Sportsman, It is Oil cooled, and recently the Oil cap Blew off and oil started spurting in mist (air) out of the Oil resevoir. It's like there is combustion in the oil resevoir, has anyone had this problem? Any suggestions? I've thought about purchasing a new Oil cap and slapping it on, but I think there stems a problem. PLEASE HELP

If you have a Sportsman 400,450 or 500 the only way I can see possible that an oil dipstick blowing out of the oil tank is for pressure build up from a stopped up vent line at top of the tank, but there is a slit on the tank vent hose about 2 inches out from the tank fitting and it would have to be stopped up too? . Magnum 330 or 500?? does make a difference! PLUS if its a 500 still has the same type oil tank and vent line as the Sportsman. OPT

330. Also earlier that day the oil hose goign to the radiator blew off, I reconnected it, and let my brother ride it some more, 40 minutes later the Dipstick blew out. Obviously too much pressure, but not sure where to go from here.

First off its an "oil cooler" hose, plus this is not an uncommon thing for them to do this! Seen this before! Check at the top of the engine for the vent hose and see if its kinked up,can cause crank case pressure build up if it is. If vent is ok, could have a partially stopped up oil cooler hose or the cooler itself,or problems at the lines at the engine or oil filter area. OPT

Ive checked all hoses going out and around the top of the engine, nothing seems kinked or clogged, any further suggestions would help.

Had some with too much oil cause problems,BUT would just make a mess on top of engine and air box from the crank vent, not what you say yours has done! Is it possible you "might" have not had the cap tightened enough and worked loose!! I've had this happen to customers too,PLUS I made the mistake of just barely hitting the starter on an old 325 with the oil cap off and oil shot up over the lift and me also!! There is a lot of pressure at the cap area! Only had a couple stopped up oil coolers(most problems were leaking at the oil hose inlet and return blocks),had several that would blow off lines at the cooler. I would just drain the oil, replace the filter and install TWO new quarts of oil and try it out, especially since you've had different operators on this machine!! OPT
