If you just get the TPS harness kit, the regulator for it and a 9 volt battery we can probably save the throttle body!!

Thanks for your patience, I finally received the tester today. What should I do to reset the throttlebody?

Unhook the TPS harness connector. You can loosen the throttle body clamp to move it around to adjust the tps sensor if need be.. Have the regulator hooked up to the color coded bottom plugs in the harness adapter along with having the 9 volt battery hooked up. The throttle cable must have NO tension on the throttle body butterfly valve at all!Plus don't let the butterfly open and slap shut! Loosen the throttle cable, plus remove the side plate to see when the cable has slack at the butterfly wheel. At the top of this plate there is a "D" ring adjuster screw. HOPEFULLY it hasn't been tampered with. Set your volt meter to vdc. Red lead goes to the Red plug at the top of the tester harness,Black wire goes to the Yellow plug in at the top also. Read the voltage at the meter. It should be between 1.10 to 1.14 vdc. If not, loosen the torque screws on the TPS sensor slightly. SLOWLY turn the TPS sensor one way,if reading goes higher,go the other way. Stop when you get at 1.10 or 1.14 max and tighten the screws on the sensor. At times the reading will get off and you have to go through this procedure again until you get the correct vdc. Once you have this set unhook the tester, reposition the throttle body and tighten the clamp. Hook the TPS back up to the harness, adjust the throttle cable and crank it up. Should idle around 1180-1200 rpm.

OKAY....... Loosen the adjustment screw to where it's NOT touching the butterfly stop along with having NO pull from the throttle cable. Set the TPS to 0.70 vdc and tighten the screws. While still having the meter hooked up turn the "D" ring adjuster with a small pair of needle nose pliers to where it reads between 1.10 to 1.14 Then tighten the throttle cable up and see how it idles. Again should be around 1180 to 1200 rpm.If this doesn't work then possible throttle body! I hated it when people tampered with stuff they have no knowledge of! Hopefully we can salvage it. OPT

Thank you, I will try. While I was at it I tested the air temp sensor, brought up 2.17k ohms. Is this good?

2.45 ohms nominal + or - 36 ohms on the sensor. You're ok.

Great, i was concerned because it didn't say kohms. I have tried, didn't work. Mine has a screw with a locking nut and the screw is almost all the way in and the butterfly is open about 1/8 to 1/4 inch. is it supposed to be that far open? the tool said tps was at 1.113, also worth mentioning, the tool i bought with a new battery (tried two) only says 4.93v when connecting to pink. will that be ok. wish i could post pics.
