I joined cause this site has helped me so many ways just by reading the good stuff ! But now I need real help please
I have a 2008 Polaris Sportsman 500. I accidentally left the key on and now it wont start with the key, but if I jump the solonoid it will run until I dissconnect it. Don't seem to have cluster power unless the battery charger is on. Battery tests good. All fuses good, unless their is one I can't see. I think the problem is my solonoid but I would like other opinions please. Thanks George

If you have to have a charger on the battery to get power to the speedo then it still seems like you have a battery problem or cables on the battery might be loose?? Did you have the battery load tested? Plus you mentioned fuses? I guess you have an efi machine and not a carb? If so check the fuse block itself, you can remove it to see if any wires might be burnt, etc. Also there should be 12 volts to the small wire on the solenoid from the ignition switch. Possible that the switch could be bad if there isn't voltage and it's not able to trigger the solenoid to crank or as you said you suspect the solenoid itself could be a problem. Strange things happen when keys are left on! OPT
