Default 2007 hawkeye

My son's 2007 Hawkeye starts, idles, and runs fine but at full throttle the engine revs high, then almost dies, revs high, almost dies, etc. New fuel filter and vent tubes are clear. New plug and boot. Any ideas?

Check that you have good fuel flow to the carb. Just pull the fuel line. If you haven't checked the carb out, could be needle and seat problem not allowing enough fuel, water in the fuel, etc. The carb is not the easiest to get to,but sounds like this might be the problem if fuel flow is good. Plus check that the tank vent is clear. On the fuel flow crank the engine over and see if you have good flow through the line,if not could also be a fuel pump problem.Does sound like fuel starvation or tank vent tube kinked causing a vapor lock condition?? Default 2007 hawkeye update

Thanks to old polaris tech for the info. The problem was trash in the fuel valve under the tank. It was allowing enough fuel to run normally but not under load. Cleaned valve and tank and it is running fine.

Check with EPI,High Lifter, etc as to anything that they may have. Hawkeye is made by Eton or Aeon and it's clutch system is different than other Polaris models. Not too may after market items last time I checked. There are different weight rollers offered, but don't know if this would help. Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse

Problem is that it wont take a regular type Polaris clutching system that I'm aware of. Any clutch kits would have to use the roller designed type clutch system that it already has. This is really an entry level quad and not too many (if any) after market performance items are available for it. OPT

Cheapest place I've found so far, unless you want to try to rebuild each cv joint.
