My 2008 sportsman 400HO throttles and accelerates normally up until its at maximum. when i go over 90% it stutters/stammers and starts to die. The first time this happened i was heading down a hill giving it full throttle and when i stopped it died. wouldn't restart. took off the side panel and i saw what i believe to be the carbereuter dripping fuel. I noticed also my filter and charger were dirty so i took them off,cleaned them and it eventually started. But it's not quite the same and doesnt reach full speed. I then noticed the gas tank gauge now spins around and i can see the floater at the top of the tank.

any idea what happened here?

 

If it's just the center metal part that the float ramps up,it could be like some I've found that just came out of place. If it's needs replacement,dealer seems to be the only option as all aftermarket places don't seem have it.
