2000 Sportsman 500 gear selector body problem
#11
Glad you were able to repair it. Might pop the top off if you haven't already done so and either mop out the old oil or just top it off if it's low from the leaking o rings. Calls for 0w40 or close to this weight. Oil level is supposed to be slightly below the top of the shift rails. You can change o rings or any other worn parts when you get the chance. Manual calls for changing oil every two years in the shift box,but most people don't.

THANKS again OPT!! I was wondering what the weight of the oil was and did not realize it was listed in the manual. We had a couple drops come out of the body last night and thought it was a motor oil weight of some sorts.
