bst40 carburetor

Just take the cap off the carb and remove the diaphragm and slide assy. Just inspect the diaphragm for any tears or worn spots.Diaphragm can be replaced if damaged. Item #8 Dirt Cheap Yamaha, Honda, Arctic Cat & Polaris OEM Parts & Accessories – Cycle Parts Warehouse Bogging/hesitation could be from stopped up jets,worn/sticking needle valve, dirty air filter etc. Plus here's a good break down on this carb. Used on a Ktm but similar to your model.http://www.advrider.com/forums/showthread.php?t=347184

Thanks for the reply, I Cleaned the carburetor really good but when I open the thottle it bogs down till it gets up to 2500 rpms + - . Idles good and starts good. Is there suppose to be a o-ring at the choke where it thread in to the carburetor.

No o-ring on the choke assy. Again if you cleaned the carb something could still be blocked up,air filter may be dirty, the float level may not be set right or the o-ring around the needle valve assy could be leaking and causing too much fuel to enter the bowl. Could explain the bogging until you have enough rpm to handle the load.I'd install a carb kit, recheck the float level (shows how to adjust it in the link above) and see if this solves the problem. At least you can eliminate the carb as a problem.Just cleaning a carb may not always help especially on the finicky bst40.http://www.ebay.com/itm/Shindy-Carburetor-Kit-Polaris-Scrambler-500-2003-2005-Sportsman-500-03-05-Carb-/181480355842?pt=Motors_ATV_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a41127802&vxp=mtr
