i found this on craigslist....thinking about getting it...they good or bad machines? prone to problems??

500 is a usually better choice in most cases than the old 2 strokes.Appearance wise probably will clean up nice after you get all the dust off. Again depends on what all's wrong with it,but at that price the parts are worth more than that.Just expect the unexpected even on the usually reliable 500. P.S. Thought you were going after one this time you could ride and didn't have to push...

now WHAT would the FUN be in getting something that already ran? this way i get one CHEAP and no matter what happens ive learned something.

Good point from your perspective I suppose on a learning experience,but from mine after working week after week that tuned into years on machines that didn't run,I have no interest left on working on anything unless I absolutely have to.. I want to just turn the key,crank it up and go...

$500 you can part it out on ebay if its has a large issues.
I would get more for it by just selling the seat and winch.
Then their is they money makers , CDI, axles,tranny, speedo , rad and fan and so on.

missed it...he sold it one hour after it was on craigslist....i didnt even get his phone number to call by email and it was already gone...
