Thanks i thought a rip off too. I probably should have started with a regulator but ordered the stator from mr.electrical yesterday and it actually just showed up. Cant believe it lol. Gonna change it tonight or tomorrow and ill test the charge. Thanks again

i was just coming on here to ask if anyone had instructions to rebuild a starter when i saw your reply here. This dbelectrical starter lasted me one year so i was hoping to rebuild the polaris one now. I have the rebuild kit but it looks complicated.

Sorry you only got a year out of it.. Most have good luck with the DB starters.Plus they do offer a heavy duty one with a two year warranty. Since you've got the brush kit already,there are several good videos on rebuilding starters.
