Default extra brown wire off ignition coil

Any idea what this wire is for? Accessory outlet - e.g. cigarette lighter? It's not on the wiring diagram.

1999 Polaris Magnum 500

Brown wire - with end but no connection anywhere, off 1999 Polaris Magnum 500 ignition coil.

It may have been for a winch or some extra accessory that was taken off when you purchased it. It may also just be a second ground. Try looking on the frame for a male end to that plug. Has anyone owned the atv before you have? Does the atv still run?

ATV runs OK. There were hand warmers from a previous owner, at least 2 people owned this before me. The winch is connected directly to battery, so that's not it. I don't think this is an aftermarket wire - the one it's connected to is part of the wiring diagram. Just not this tip.

There is always an extra ground wire off the bunch of main grounds at the coil for future use. Doesn't hurt to let it dangle as they come that way from the factory.
