2000 Sportsman 335 tough to shift

Question 2000 Sportsman 335 tough to shift
I was trying to get the 2000 335 in gear last night, and it was tough moving it through the gear ranges. When I put it in low range it was tough to get back to neutral or any other gear. I finally did get it back.

Is there a good way to smooth this out so it shifts much smoother?
