wont idle and will only start in reverse when backup button depressed. Will start OK in neutral but when you go into reverse unit stalls out. Plug very black. Runs good with gas open at any location except idle. Took carb off to clean but need to get new box wrench to remove choke cable from carb. Not sure if choke is going off completely as filter box has a small amount of gas in it also.

 

Pull the black wire from the reverse limiter module first and see if that solves the problem.Dying in reverse is usually a sign the module has failed and this eliminates it. You should also have full power in reverse without having to hold in the over ride button.Module #36.
