Check the tank vent line also to make sure it's not blocked or kinked. A simple thing like this can stop one from running right or can just die out right from a vapor lock in the tank. After it gets a "glug" of air, some will run ok for awhile until it does it again. Same thing on the carb atmospheric vent. Has to be clean and open.

The Kokusan kit is a direct replacement for the Ducati system. Comes with stator, flywheel, cdi, coil, regulator, jumper wires needed and instructions.

Default New ignition.

I installed one of these replacement kits about 7 years ago but am having the rough running thing as well. I will check all these items listed here to check. It will take me a month or so to get to it, the bike is sitting at the cabin for the winter.

Usually the Kokusan ignitions are good systems, same as what most Ktms use also but with electrical components anything can happen. Plus if it hasn't been ridden that much or the fuel hasn't been treated with a good stabilizer or sometimes even if it has,you can have gunk in the jets, needle and seat, etc. Hopefully a good cleaning may be all that it needs.
