Default 1995 Polaris Scrambler 400 Front Sprocket Replacement

Good Afternoon All,

Just need your opinion on the best/only way to replace the front sprocket on a 1995 Polaris Scrambler 400 4x4. My old one blew apart so I was able to take it off easy but now I'm experiencing a frame clearance issue when trying to put the new one on. It doesn't look like I can rotate the eccentric fully over to allow me space to put on the sprocket, not sure if that is by design or if its stuck. Would the only way be to back out the eccentric on the opposite side?

Thanks for the advice,
Brad

When you tighten the center eccentric chain it takes pressure off the front. Don't know if that helps you or not.

It's more concerning how to install the front sprocket. I've attached a picture for reference.

Thanks,
Brad

What you can do is push the eccentric locking bolt up to clear the groove and knock the hole assy over a bit so you can mount the sprocket so it clears the frame. Center the eccentric, replace the locking bolt(#4) then you should be able work the front chain over the sprocket.I remember this was a tight fight for the sprocket and chain.
