When the ball itself is sucked out kinda hard to use the grease zerk to force one out. I've drilled through the cup and used a big screw when this happens. Heated the strut up and used a small slide hammer on the screw to pop the cup out. Most of the time that worked but the strut has to be really hot. On ones that wouldn't work,we cleaned the cup up and welded a bolt then used the slide hammer. Some have been lucky enough to use heat and a sharp chisel and punch the cup lips inward enough to grab with vice grips and work it around tapping on the vice grips to get it out.
