I am supposed to be picking up an 05 Phoenix tomorrow. The guy says it was running fine but now the solenoid just clicks when he tries to start it. I just texted him and asked if it has a kick starter and he said its stripped.

Is that something that can be fixed or am I buying a basketcase? TIA DJ

 

Could be bad connections,weak or bad battery,bad starter relay,the starter motor itself,etc.With stripped out k/s splines sounds like you'd be buying one and don't know if it really runs or not.People can tell you anything to sell one. Just a friendly warning on buying one that you can't start.
