Manual shows piston to cylinder clearance between .00118-.00197 (.03mm - .05mm) on average. .0047 is service limit called for.
Ring end gap just shows max allowable range, but normal gap I've found on Polaris replacement piston and ring end gap between .010-.016 in most cases. Depends on if oem or after market piston and rings are used.

Service Limit:
.030(0.75 mm)

If you need a manual.. Sportsman,Scrambler,Outlaw all the same.2002 Polaris Sportsman 90 Service Manual PDF Download

Default Rings

They are aftermarket made by Niche Ind. But When I called them they told me they did not know I have to check with the oem specs for my machine. They sent no papers with the product so I am assuming they make them to those specs. Thanks for your help.

They take a lot of the same info or lack of from the manuals I guess.
