Gen2 RZR

I have been seeing this term.

Since I took delivery of the very first one at my dealer, I thinks it's safe to say that I have a First Generation.

What are the differences between Gen-1 and the afore mentioned Gen-2??

 

floor boards are rougher texture and have like squares formed in them, the hood now has two twist locks to secure rather than the rubber push in plugs,the storage box under the hood is different also and something else i think there is a small wall like piece of plastic beside the gas pedal to keep the passengers foot from getting to the pedal that i dont think was on the early units

 

Airbox changes are a big one for lots of people. It is supposed to cut back on the amount of dust that gets into the box. I think you have more room for the drivers left foot to rest. The plastic is actually a little different, especially along the seams. Battery boxes are different too. Of course, all the old Gen1 models can go back to the dealer and get the airbox update for free. If you have a dusty box, this might be a good idea.

 

I saw on another forum that they also removed a hole which was in the bed and allowed water to drip onto the clutch/belt area.
