AWD Issue with 07 700

Default AWD Issue with 07 700
My dad recently purchased a used 07 700 Ranger. I was checking it out yesterday and noticed that is seems stuck in AWD. I checked the power wires that go to the front diff and it switches 12V on and off but still remains in AWD. Does anyone have any insight on this. Something broken in the diff?

Default AWD Issue with 07 700
Try backing up with the switch off.
