'03 Ranger, electrical problem!
#1
Howdy,
We a have an '03 Ranger and added a plow and front and rear spot lights.
2 nights ago, I had to plow at night and the combination of the winch and the lights,
killed the battery. Even without the lights, raising the plow with the winch causes an obvious drain/strain..........is there an after-market alternator????? or did the dealer wire this up improperly??????
We live 2/3rds of the way up a switchbacked mnt rd....and need this machine to be reliable????!!!!!!
Any help would be great,
Thanks

Had a bulletin on the 04 Ranger 500 about replacement reg/rectifier for this reason to charge more into battery with optional equiptment. Look under your hood ,on left side should be small module with red,,red/white?, and yellow leads. IF you have a spare yellow on harness thats NOT hooked up to anything, could possibly use updated module that utilizes extra yellow wire! Check with closest dealer that knows about the bulletin and number for reg/rectifier. HOPE this works in your application! Good luck
