Default All New Side-by-Side Announced: GENERAL

It looks like Polaris is wasting no time coming up for an answer to machines like Honda's new Pioneer 1000. The company has announced an all new sxs for 2016 called the GENERAL and in the process, further blurred the line between sport and utility side-by-sides.

We have the full scoop here:

Looks pretty cool. Price will be key. The Pioneer 1000 is around 17K for a nicely equipped model. If this new 1000cc General can come in around the same price or less for the eps equipped model, they will sell them faster than they can get them. I wonder about the width as well, I assume about 60" but it doesn't say. Could be a good rival to the 60" Maverick 1000 as well. All the other high performance 1000cc machines are 64" wide or more. With the name General, I'm just picturing this guy driving it https://aaronolsen.files.wordpress.c...-insurance.png

62.5" width. This machine is no comparison to get P1000. 100 hp,better suspension, true dual purpose machine. Base model is going to draft in the 15-16 K range.

62.5" wide is a bit much but definitely should easily outperform the Pioneer 1000, Teryx, and Wolverine R-Spec. 15-16K is near what the Pioneer 1000 is being priced at. The other 2 are actually a little less expensive but aren't really in the same class as far as hp goes. I would like to see a shootout with all of them though, that would be great to watch as soon as the new General is ready. Maybe throw in the 60" wide 1000cc Maverick as well, that might be the only machine that could give this new General some stiff competition as far as performance goes. The Gator 860i would be interesting too.
