You can either get the Severe duty Polaris replacements, or go aftermarket e.g. Braking components.

You may have just had a defect in the pads that were on there

EBC makes a good severe duty pad made of Kevlar. We've had good luck with them. Amazingly, we just got 2000 miles on the stock brakes on my son's Sportsman. He isn't easy on them either.

My brake pads on my 98 Scrambler are still factory, so either I don't use the brakes alot or I had some dang good pads!!! I agree that you may have had bad pads from the factory.

I have a 2001 400 Xplorer, bought it new in march of 2002. The rear brakes keep wearing out this is the third set already!!! Read the post about ebc pads with kevlar anyone know how long they last. Anyone else out there have any suggustions on longer lasting brake pads and where to get them. Thanks!!!

Remember, the more severe duty pads will chew up the disk alot faster. Pads are cheaper and easier to replace.
