Fox struts?? Are they worth the money?
#1
I was just thinking about purchasing the Fox struts for my Scrambler 400, and was wondering if anyone has any experience with these. Negatives or positives all welcome, let me know what you think!
I will say that from what I have seen it has to be an improvement from the regular SACHS but who knows.

I would wait for the 9", rebuildable struts that are supposed to be comming out. I heard this from a couple different sources, but the same manufature might actually be suppling it to multiple people. A few months ago a guy was looking for us to show interest in these new struts on this very page. I dont think many people replied other than myself & a few others.

Talon nice to talk to you again!!! My friend that has the "Piglaris" has the Fox Struts they are stiff if you are doing woods racing they are really stiff. If you are riding motorcross tracks they may be worth the money. I have rode his in the woods and it will beat you to death.

Haaaaa- I thought I was the only one! I also have my shock brackets welded on and to big pieces of angle Iron for added strength. Still on the first set of struts-they may as well be welded tight becouse all they do is bang and make noise evrything but absorb shock!! I also have to use use starting fluid, but then she fires right up. But for over 10,000 farm miles and never did a #### thing for maintaining it it has been a heck of a machine. All I did is add gas, and oil every so often.

talon400,
Works performance has come out with some new "Steeler struts" for the Scrambler models. They are priced reasonably at about $260 per set. They say they are for riders in the 150-225lb range. Go to their web site and take a look.
The Fox struts are "stiff" because they actually have compression dampening. Unlike the standard struts which have none. I have a set on my 1997 Sport. They make up for the limited travel up front by being stiffer. I think they're worth it!
