Mathew, No, you can't get your 03 Trail Boss to wheelie. I cut and pasted a mod. I did for my 03 Tboss in regards to a past topic I answered. After the mods. made below, my Tboss can wheelie with just a little help from a slight bump on the ground.
I got my White Brothers E Series slip on pipe from Rick Ritter (618) 644-3211. Rick mods. the White to fit the 03 Trail Boss - comes with instructions to install. I had a shop do the mods. and they had to build up the metal heat reflector tape on the side panel and fender so the plastic wouldn't melt from the pipe heat. Rick also sold me an EPI red clutch spring and air box vents. In this forum do a search for the phrase "Trailboss 330 mods?" see page 2. Rick answered a concern some had with my red spring - I think he cleared up any question. I am very glad I kept the EPI red spring. Now I had the shop do the mods. but I'll tell you the best I can form what I understand they did. They did put a 145 main jet in it. They also uncapped (factory capped) the air/fuel screw and backed it out some. They reset the needle jet so it had 2 open places left available (on the rich end). They put a K&N filter in it.
Now here's another tricky part. The snorkel on the air box lid was removed completely leaving a hole in the lid - they thought it had to come out to make room for the vents and K&N filter to fit. Where the snorkel had gone through the lid they drilled the hole out larger for one of the two ~1" wide vents to go. Rick thought they both might fit in the rear lft. & rt. sides of the cover - and he will tell you the vents need 1/2" clearance above the vent for breathing room. Well, even with cutting them down shorter they didn't have the room to place them in the corners - Rick did say to check for head space. So, they cut them down so they would rise 3/4" tall above the lid and placed one where the snorkel had gone through the lid. The second vent went center front, back 1&5/8" on vent center in the box lid. I know I made a compromise on the box intake being lower - I can live with this. This is a basic Stage 1 mod. for this 03 machine. It is much faster and has much more power. Let me know how you like it.

Ive heard you can hold the brake, give it about half throttle, and sit back on the seat, and then gun it hard, and let out on the brake. I think it just lets the clutch try to engage faster so that it will kind of pop the front end up fast.

I would advise against holding the brake and revving the engine, you will fry the belt quickly like that and could damage the clutches eventually if you done it enough. A clutch kit could help alot along with some slight mods.

NCScrambler, Good to hear from you, and good advice too. What do you think of the mods. I mentioned above? I don't know how high the RPM's are when the clutch engages, but it's quite a bit higher than stock with the EPI Red spring. It runs good and strong - I just hope it's not too hard on the clutch.

Those sound like good mods. Rick is a good guy and knows his stuff. I wouldn't see why that spring would hurt the clutches at all. I have an Aaen red, I don't know how close they are, but mine engages around 2800 rpm. Most clutch mods will not hurt the clutches, the hardest thing on clutches is what is said earlier about braking and running at low constant speeds will eventually groove the bottom of the sheaves and caus eit to not shift out correctly. A Kevlar or Aramid re-inforced belt will also cause damage over time, but high horsepower machines pretty much need them, so it is a price you have to pay.
