I am having a problem with my wifes' 98 Trail Blazer. Its all stock for starters and I bought it new in 98. Up until this point I have had 0 problems with it. Anyway it will shift into reverse fine but when I want it to go into forward it just whirrs and doesnt go into gear. I am assuming it has something to do with the trans linkage but am not sure how to adjust it. I have the plastic off and am looking at the linkage bar. Do I lossen the nuts on the shifter side and the trans side and turn the bar itself? Do I remove it and adjust it somehow this way? Any help would be appreciated. I can work on the Yamahas I have, but am clueless when it comes to this trans problem. Thanx in advance for your replies.

Two things to check before adjusting the linkage. Make sure the idle is set correctly and that the fluid in the tranny is clean and full. Now to adjust the linkage, yes loosen the nuts and move the rod. Pretty straightforward once you do it, so you should have no problems.
