I am looking at buying a Sportsman 500 Saturday morning and then going on a trail ride that afternoon, What kind of break procedure do they have? Thank you

 

My break in period for my 03 scrambler was ten hours no long wide open runs. Gradualy bring it up to full speed then let it slow down slowly. Basically the whole point it not to to run it at one rpm constantly. Make sure you change your oil after your ten hours. This is something than cannot be put off. You will be supprised at the mettal shavings attached to the magnet on your oil pan. Ask your dealer and read our manual, it will tell you exatcly what you need to do. HOpe this helps
