I used my GPS today while riding... it worked great..I was concered that it wouldn't work when in wooded areas, but it never lost the signal....some of the places I go there's a lot of trails and it would be easy to get lost..with the GPS you can always find your way back..and explore new trails...
Then later at home I load it into a map , on my computer and you can see where you were relative to the roads ....does anyone else use a GPS....??????

I used my Magellian Meridian Platinum for the first time this weekend. We were in Mud, and Rain, and this thing was awesome. Came home and loaded it to the mapsend topo map. COOL. Now I need to figure out how all the features work. I got waypoints, and tracks, and can see where I have been, but I need to figure out how to remove the current track. Had some wierd lines from playing with the thing around town.

I have an old, basic Magellan 300 ( I think that's the model) works great on speed runs, but it's showing it's age. They sure have some nice software packages/upgrades out there now. Almost like a quad auto-pilot.

I also have a pretty old magellan one that has been used hard nted on the handlebars while the quad rolled numerous times) and it's still not showing any signs of age other than a few scratches still works like the day i bought it.

I have a E-trex venture with a handlbar mount on my Sportsman, I havn't got to use it on a ride because I have only had my quad for a couple of weeks but I use it alot for Geocaching and have downloaded it to my Delorme topousa to see routes. My brother says I have too much stuff with me, oh well!!

SpruceDuece..If you load the trail in to Mapsend on your computer you can play back the trip..it shows you moving around the trail your speed , time ,distance traveled , heading and altitude ..In the menu it's under Tracks then choose control center..

I have a Garmin Etrex Legend that I use on my sportsman, and it works great! I have it mounted to the handlebars with a RAM mount, and it stays right there even over the roughest terrain.
It's pretty funny when I get home and look at the trip map on the computer and see all the criss-cross lines where I've been spinning up mud in some old mud hole
