Default Should I get it????

I've been lookin for a scrambler 400 2x4 for a while now, and I came across this 97 sport 400. What are you guys' opinions on the difference between the two? Is the sport a peppy quad like the scrambler. At what price would this be a good buy? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advanceWhat do ya guys think?

Wait for Modquad and some others to post. They will know what they are taking about.

I think it looks pretty nice.
Pricing I don't know I haven't been looking at used quads in a long time.
But the Quad it self looks nice.
It's got the same motor as my Xplorer and I love it.
Sports and fun and you can mod them to have crazy power.
I would go for it if the price is right.

What would be the right price? It'll be for my girlfriend, she's used to riding a 00 trailblazer so I think she'd really like the step-up. How much difference is there between the trailblazer and the sport? Thanks for the posts, keep em comin, I need info within a day or two.

If you could get it for around $1800 or less, it MIGHT be a decent buy. If it had a new top end done, it was probably ridden hard. I would look for a newer model from a private seller. The Sport is a good bike, I'd just look for a newer one.

The only thing that really bothers me about it is the .50 overbore without a cylinder girdle kit. That and the FMF pipe sucks for Polaris, but besides that, everything appears to be ok.

I don't agree with that Quadfather, a 97 would be due for a new top end if it had been ridden much at all, just wonder why he went with a .50 over??

So 2400 would be too much, huh. Yeah, a 50 over is quite much for possibly it's "first" rebuild. I don't know what to do. What I really want is a scrambler 400 2x4. Why do some 400 2x4's have the dual headlight on the bars and some have the single headlight like the trailblazer???
