Default Man I feel OLD

Since I got a grin out of reading this thread, thought I'd give my two-cents. Let's see now, Iwas born in 1953, and I think I've already had a birthday this spring, hard to remember , so that makes me how old now ? My first try at motocross was on a 100cc HODAKA - my last dirt ride before I switched to strictly street for many years was a 400cc Husky with just a FOUR-SPEED tranny and I won't even get into how LITTLE suspension travel it had! But, they were all FUN. 'Getting older' may not be fun, but it's WAY better than the only alternative. "I may grow older, but I REFUSE to grow up!" I graduated in '71 and promptly bought a '68 GTO. Musclecars and drive in movies, now those were the days. No rice burners for us cause gas was 25 cents a gallon back then. Of course I only made like $3 an hour too. I can still feel that 4 barrel open up and pin me back in my seat. Nothing like it.

I too was part of the muscle car era with a 67 Camaro, (born in 54). I don't have a muscle car anymore, maybe that is why I needed that 300HP 350 in my S10 4x4, and it will pin you back against the seat! Why grow up if you don't have to.

I had a 63 Pontiac then a 66 Chevelle with a 327. Now I just drive my Cadillac with the 300 HP Northstar ( Corvette ) motor in it. Still justa seventies rocker at heart.

This musclecar talk has shaken loose some of my 'upstairs cobwebs'. Mach 1 Mustangs were plentiful, but my '70 428 auto was, far as I knew at the time, one of only 2 big block Mach 1's in a 4 county area with the other one being a '69 428 4-speed. Keep in mind that in the long haul youth & enthusiasm are no match for age, experience & treachery

I'm only 29 not old but not real young and I found this post extremely entertaining. It's great to see all these quote older guys riding. I know a guy where I ride he's getting close to 60 and he can outride me any day of the week. Maybe his dentures or something will fall out one day and I'll beat him.

Don't bet on it. Us "older riders" don't know how to give up!

I was starting to feel all alone here till V8s10 and Raptor8 posted, ( I'll be 48 in 2 months ) I have been riding and racing toys since I was 10 and I still race the young guns every weekend and kick they're butts. Experience is hard to beat !!!
