94 400L

Default 94 400L

Im looking into buying a 1994 400L its in ok shape. what should I look at and is there anything bad thing about this atv?

Check the compression. If it has good compression and in good shape with no engine noise then it is ok.

if that 400l i equipt with a counterbalancer which i think it is make sure you check the dip stick and make sure the oil is clean and not corroded . Trust me i know through experience. this is one very important thing to check.

the 1994 400L 2x4 its a 2 stroke not a four stroke there is no dip stick, right? if there is where is it? where do i look for a counterbalancer? whAt should the compression be at? and what engine noise should i listen for? have there been any problem with the chain drive? i want to know alot about it before i go to buy it so im sorry if i seem anoying.[img]i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif[/img] thankyou

Yes there is a dipstick,it is located right behind the pull start rope at the back of the motor.It is for the counterbalancer.You should have at least 110lbs of compression.If it has never been rebuilt the stock piston would worry me a little ,because the stock pistons are known to crack around the intake skirts of the piston.If you do decide to purchase it it would be a good idea to freshen up the top end with a new wiseco.The chains shouldn't be much of a problem,they are pretty cheap and so are the sprockets.Another thing you could do is have a dealer check it out for you.Hope this helps.

I know that it is the original piston. Is the piston the only thing that i should change i know that it is all original. where should i get the piston?

DRy counterbalance of antifreeze in it = major $$$$$$$$$

What will go wrong with the engine itself?

could that be whats cuasin my broken magnets on the flywheels?
